Volunteering is an experience that changes both ourselves and our environment. Each year at the UAB, the FAS (Fundació Autònoma Solidària) offers different programmes to get the university community involved in social action.

Anyone who is interested will need to have a little availability. They also need to bring the motivation to change the world and the desire to meet other people. The FAS volunteering department offers the people who want to join the programmes training in relation to the work that they will be doing. Volunteering is done in groups and there is always day-to-day support and monitoring of the activity. What's more, taking part in a volunteer programme can be rewarded with academic credits.

This 2022-2023 academic year, as many as 10 programmes are being offered and there are plans to expand the offer in the coming months. The activities are carried out in prisons, hospitals, schools, institutes, on campus and elsewhere. They include environmental work, and the promotion of health, equal opportunities, school success, and the rights of migrants and refugees. Programmes are based on mentoring, peer-to-peer, or workshop methodologies, or involve participatory and awareness-raising activities.

At this link you will find a summary of all the programmes along with further information, and if you are interested in signing up, all you have to do is fill in a form.
