Filmed entirely in black and white, this film tells the story of George Valentin (Jean Dujardin), a silent film star who sees how talking pictures put his career in jeopardy and are the start of his downfall. But then he meets Peppy Miller (Bérénice Bejo), a young dancer who started off as an extra and is now a star of this new film format.
