"Time Use Week", ‘Time Use Week’, an international debate on the right to and improvement of time management

The UAB through its QUIT research group and the CED, organises and hosts Time Use Week, the leading international gathering dedicated to advancing the debate, knowledge, and public policies regarding the right to time and improved time organisation. The meeting will take place on Wednesday 21 October and the full programme can be consulted here.

From 19 to 21 October, the Setmana dels Horaris i el Temps [Schedules and Time Week] will bring together researchers, policymakers, companies, social organisations, and citizens from around the world in Barcelona and at the UAB to foster debate—drawing on their diverse fields of knowledge and experience—aimed at improving the social organisation of time.

Time policies are the key tools at the disposal of administrations and organisations to reduce the inequalities caused by time poverty and to build a healthier, fairer, more efficient and more sustainable society in which the right to time is guaranteed for all. 

The event on Wednesday 21 October, to be held at the UAB, is expected to attract between 100 and 150 participants. It will be attended by the various institutions co-organising the Time Use Week (Government of Catalonia, Barcelona Provincial Council, Barcelona City Hall, and the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona).

The programme also includes the presence of the official statistical institutes of Catalonia (IDESCAT) and Europe (Eurostat), and a research presentation session on time use, which will feature research from the UAB.
