Commemorating 20 Years of Equal Marriage to Mark the International Day Against LGBTIQ+phobia
To mark May 17, the International Day Against LGBTIQ+phobia, the UAB Equality and Diversity Service has organized an exhibition at the Faculty of Law to commemorate 20 years of equal marriage and reaffirm the rights of the LGBTIQ+ community.
On Thursday, May 14, the UAB Faculty of Law hosted the opening of the exhibition 20 Years After Equal Marriage: Memory, Activism and Future Challenges for the LGBTIQ+ Community, which will remain open until May 29.
Organized by the Ministry of Equality in collaboration with several organizations, the exhibition revisits the history of the LGBTIQ+ movement and commemorates the 20th anniversary of Law 13/2005, which legalized equal marriage in Spain.
The opening event included representatives from the Catalan Government and the UAB, including Alberto Lacasta, Esther Zapater, Montserrat Pi and Ricardo Esteban.
