Consent in sexual relations: a perspective of comparative law

On Tuesday, 10 March 2026, the Faculty of Law of the UAB is organising the round table Consent in sexual relations: a perspective of comparative law, which will focus on the analysis of consent in sexual relations from a comparative law perspective, addressing both legislative reforms and relevant jurisprudential criteria.
The participants will be Francesco Banfi, PhD student at the Università degli Studi di Milano, who will address the proposal for Italian criminal reform; Noelia Igareda, associate professor of Philosophy of Law at the UAB, who will analyze consent to Spanish legislation; and Laura Capuccio, lecturer in Constitutional Law at the UAB, who will explain the treatment of consent in the case law of the European Court of Human Rights. The session will be moderated by María José Rodríguez.
