A large share of scientific research is funded with public money, yet only a small proportion is ever communicated to society. A new study by the communications department of the Institute and the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC) shows that research centres and universities need to actively promote their findings if they want them to reach the news media.

This July, the Institute of Neurosciences has taken part in two of Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera's leading programmes aimed at promoting scientific vocations: the Barcelona International Youth Science Challenge (BIYSC) and Joves i Ciència.
