Nearly 70 experts from universities and research centres across Europe and Latin America gathered in Barcelona for the 1st International Digital Audiences Conference to discuss the impact of algorithmic mediations on news consumption, political socialization, and the challenges digital platforms pose to democracy and citizenship.

For years, the Faculty has successfully participated in this activity, which this year will reach its most important moment during Talent Week, organized by the Audiovisual Cluster of Catalonia from November 23 to 27, 2026, at The Hub (Barcelona). Selected projects will have the opportunity to receive specialized training, present themselves before a group of production company representatives, and participate in various industry activities.

The professor and vice-dean at Zhejiang University gave the conference “Digital Culture and Lifestyle Transformation” in front of professors, researchers and PhD students at the UAB, in a visit aimed at strengthening international academic and research relations.

Last Friday, May 8, the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the UAB hosted the IV Canal de Reporters Conference, promoted by the Department of Education and Vocational Training of the Generalitat de Catalunya with the simultaneous collaboration of eight Catalan universities.

Throughout the week, different activities and participatory spaces will be offered aimed at the entire university community with the aim of promoting the exchange of experiences, the acquisition of useful tools for everyday life, and collective involvement in the construction of healthier, more inclusive, and sustainable environments in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (ODS).

The Faculty of Communication Sciences opens on March 5th the exhibition “Leadership in Women. Women role models of communication”, a proposal that gives voice and visibility to professionals who have set a path in the sector. Promoted by the Equality Commission, the exhibition aims to recognize often invisible trajectories and offer students close and contemporary references, within the framework of the 8M activities at the UAB.

On February 11, the Sala de Graus of the Faculty of Communication Sciences hosted the IV Interdepartmental Doctoral Day, which brought together students and teachers of the four doctoral programs in an afternoon of debate and networking around the shared challenges of the doctoral stage and the construction of an international academic profile.
