The commitment to global justice and social transformation have been the central axes of the Final Degree Projects of Andrea Mendieta Sánchez and Núria Mir Dorn (Communication of Organizations) and Ada Solà Conesa (Journalism), awarded in the 9th edition of the Arcadi Oliveres Awards 2026.

Within the framework of the Talent Day with social impact, the Autonomous University of Barcelona will celebrate on April 28 the ceremony of the Arcadi Oliveres Awards and the TFG awards with Service Learning methodology. In this ninth edition, 41 final degree projects have been recognized that stand out for their commitment to global justice and social transformation.

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona has published the second continuous training offer of the year 2026, aimed at teaching and research staff (PDI) and technical, management and administration and services staff (PTGAS). The programming, available on the Training Portal, includes activities until September 15 and offers a total of 179 editions, of which 145 are for the PDI and 134 for the PTGAS. In this way, a broad and balanced proposal is configured that responds to the needs of both groups.

The International Communication Congress was held on April 9 and 10 at the premises of the Institute of Catalan Studies in the Raval in Barcelona. This edition focuses on the communication of climate change. The participation of the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the UAB was very nurtured, as they participated as organizers, guest lecturer and speakers.

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona will celebrate on April 22 the award ceremony for the best Final Degree Projects with a gender perspective, organized by the Equality and Diversity Service based on the proposals of the different faculties and schools. In this edition, several students from the Faculty of Communication Sciences have been distinguished for their work, which addresses key issues such as the representation of women in the media, the female voice in the digital environment or the social construction of gender identities.

InCom-UAB begins a new stage with the renewal of its management, headed by Josep Àngel Guimerà and Enric Marin Otto, elected unanimously on February 20. The new team aims to strengthen the centre, expand its research base and promote strategic lines in a context of profound changes in the communicative ecosystem. With the aim of combining continuity and renewal, InCom-UAB is projected as a key space to rethink communication policies and digital culture, strengthening its collaborative vocation and its role in contemporary academic and social debates.

Throughout the week, different activities and participatory spaces will be offered aimed at the entire university community with the aim of promoting the exchange of experiences, the acquisition of useful tools for everyday life, and collective involvement in the construction of healthier, more inclusive, and sustainable environments in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (ODS).
