The governing bodies of the Faculty of Communication of the UAB ensure the proper functioning of the faculty and work together to ensure transparent and participatory management, with representation of lecturers, students and administrative staff.

Faculty responsibilities and organisation
Article 12. The UAB Statutes refer to the Functions. Indicates that it corresponds to the centers:
a) Establish the strategic planning of teaching, as well as determine the instruments to accredit and improve the quality of their training programs.
b) Propose the creation and modification of official bachelor's and master's degree courses, and of postgraduate and lifelong learning studies, in accordance with the guidelines of the University's governing bodies, as well as elaborate the curriculum projects and the proposals for the creation of new degrees.
c) To be listened to in the definition of the academic profile of the positions of the teaching and research staff related to the study programs they coordinate.
d) To propose to the departments criteria for assigning teachers to the degrees.
e) Approve the teaching plans and ensure an adequate organization of the teaching commissions.
f) Ensure the well-being, tutoring and guidance of students and promote links with pre-university students, graduates and public and private entities in the labour sector.
g) Participate in the quality assessment processes of the school and promote the continuous improvement of teaching activity.
h) Coordinate and supervise the management of the services and resources of personnel and materials that are their competence in accordance with the provisions of the General Regulations of centres and structures and the regulations of the University, as well as manage their budget allocation.
i) Propose modifications to the list of jobs of the technical, management and administration staff and services of the center.
j) Promote and coordinate cultural, training and university extension projects and initiatives.
k) Exercise any other function that these statutes or the regulations of the University attribute to them.
The governing bodies of the Faculty of Communication Sciences are:
a) of a collegiate nature
• The Faculty Board is the collegiate governing body of the Faculty and is composed of representatives of the academic staff, the students and the administration and services staff of all the teachings and degrees that are taught in the Faculty. The Board will be made up of 70 members, which include the members registered.
• The permanent commissions: are permanent commissions of the Faculty, in addition to those that can be created in accordance with article 9 of this regulation, the Academic Affairs Committee, the Economics and Services Committee and the Master's Committee. All the groups of the Faculty must be represented in the three committees, there will be parity in the composition of the teaching staff and the students. The commissions alternate executive powers with advisory powers, in accordance with the specific scope of action that is then established for each one. Permanent commissions must meet at least twice each academic semester.
• The Academic Affairs Committee is responsible for preparing, debating and proposing any matter related to teaching, academic planning and studies, and also agreeing or resolving the issues established in the Faculty's Regulations.
• The Committee on Economics and Services is responsible for preparing, debating and proposing any matter related to the Faculty’s economic activity, services, infrastructures and facilities, and also agreeing or resolving the issues established in the Faculty’s Regulations.
• The Master's Committee will be composed and will have the attributions established by the current regulations of the UAB in the subject.
• The Deganat team, which assists the dean in the exercise of his duties, is formed by the dean, the secretary and the vice-deans.
• The Electoral Board is made up of five members and their respective alternates. The secretary of the Faculty, who is a full member, a civil servant teacher, a hired teacher, a student, and a member of the administration and services staff, chosen through a draw that takes place every two years. The president of the Electoral Board is the secretary of the Faculty
• The Student Council is made up of the course delegates and/or groups plus the representatives of the students on the Faculty Board and the Cloister. At the beginning of each academic year, the Vice-dean in charge of monitoring teaching and the coordinators of degree studies must carry out the process of choosing the course delegates and / or groups of each of the degree degrees. Each year, the Dean must collaborate in the construction of the coordinating body, must expose the tasks and rights they obtain as representatives and, where appropriate, agree on the joint work agenda Student Council (Student coordinating body, OCA)
b) of a one-person character
- the dean, the secretary and the vice-deans.
