The REAL-Postgrowth project (Post-growth – REAL – A Post-Growth Deal) is excited to announce that our doctoral candidate at ICTA-UAB, Meghna Goyal will present a public talk as part of our monthly public seminar series.

Seminar: "Increasing inequality in agri-food value chains: global trends from 1995-2020"

Speaker:  Meghna Goyal, ICTA-UAB doctoral candidate at ICTA-UAB

The talk will present current research on empirical estimations of global inequality in agri-food value chains. Globalisation and trade has led to increasing inter-sectoral and between country inequality. The argument will be made that inequality is part of the organising logic of global value chains, and is a continuation of rural-urban “transfers of value” since capitalism organised production globally.

Meghna Goyal is a doctoral candidate with the REAL project at ICTA-UAB. Her work focuses on international trade in value chain analysis and unequal exchange in the agri-food sector. Broadly, she's interested in the governing logic of value chain analysis and determination.
