UAB School of Engineering, one of the three Catalan sites for the National Telecommunications Olympics

The UAB School of Engineering is one of the three Catalan headquarters of the second edition of the National Telecommunications Olympics. The classification phase for Catalonia will take place on 27 April, but the preparatory phase is starting soon! The UAB will be offering a free Arduino course on Friday 9 February, open to all participatory teams.

The competition to classify for the finals takes place at the UAB School of Engineering, where 17 teams from 11 secondary education centres from different Catalan towns will be participating

The second National Telecommunications Olympics is national in scope and the qualifying day in Catalonia will be held on Saturday 27 April at the 3 participating venues: UPC Campus Nord, UPC Castelldefels and the UAB. In the competition to qualify for the final, which will take place at the UAB School of Engineering, 17 teams from 11 secondary schools and institutes of Catalan towns will participate.

 

This second edition maintains the objective of promoting scientific culture, technology and innovation among students with the purpose of establishing a meaningful connection in the field of telecommunications and the SDGs (Agenda 2030).

The best in each category qualify for the national final competition from 9 to 11 May. The Telecommunications Olympics are aimed at students of ESO, baccalaureate and middle and high school. With the possibility of competing in individual or team mode.

Teams can be formed from 2 to 5 students (ESO, baccalaureate and cycles) under the challenge of developing a prototype based on any programmable platform with the Arduino IDE to demonstrate how telecommunications help to meet the SDG 3 Health and well-being (SDG Agenda 2030).

Participating teams are offered a free Arduino course, in the case of UAB it will be this Friday 9 February.

The event at national level is organized by the Official College of Technical Telecommunications Engineers (COITT) and the Spanish Association of Graduates and Technical Telecommunications Engineers (AEGITT), together with the Conference of Directors of Schools with Engineering Degrees in the field of Telecommunications (CODIGAT), which brings together twenty university schools as sponsors and collaborators.
