Two UAB research groups accredited with the new TECNIO quality seal
ACCIÓ has awarded the new TECNIO seal to the Centre of Prototypes and Hardware-Software Solutions (CEPHIS) and the Metamaterials Research Centre for Innovation in Electronics and Communications Technologies (CIMITEC) of the UAB.

The TECNIO seal is an accreditation currently awarded by the Government of Catalonia through its ACCIÓ agency for business competitiveness. It is awarded to the most innovative technology, the developers which make it a reality and to the facilitators who participate in the process of technology and knowledge transfer. Thus, the agency helps to direct businesses to where they need to go in order to develop new products and processes, by either acquiring and exploiting patents, contracting R&D&i projects, or working with spin-offs.
The two new accredited centres stand out for their developments in highly innovative technologies which help businesses create new products, processes and services. CIMITEC is a centre belonging to the UAB Department of Electronic Engineering, leader in research into metamaterials. CEPHIS, belonging to the UAB Department of Microelectronics and Electronic Systems, works on researching and developing electronic system prototypes for different applications and industrial sectors.
This accreditation process continues to be open and currently there are other UAB and CSIC groups preparing their applications. For more information please contact the coordinator of TECNIO groups of the UAB Research Park, David Sierra (david.sierra@uab.cat).
