The UAB to participate in the 5th edition of CRUE's #HiloTesis competition
The competition will take place starting at midnight (00:00 hours) on 3 June until 11:59 p.m. 17 June 2024 (local time in mainland Spain). Each of the six awards will include a cash prize of 500 euros thanks to funding provided by the Ignacio Larramendi Foundation. This year the competition will take place only on Bluesky.

Last year, UAB student María Paola Ayala received one of the six awards thanks to her thread of 19 posts.
The first post of the thread or carousel must carry the hashtag #HiloTesis and, whenever possible, also cite or tag an image with @crueuniversidades.bsky.social, @filarramendi.bsky.social, and the account from the participating university.
Once the thread or carousel is published, the participant will have to sign up and attach the link by filling out this form. Deadline for submission is 17 June at 11:59 p.m. (local time in mainland Spain).
The thread or carousel can be posted in any of the co-official languages of Spain, but the participating university will have to provide a translated version into Spanish if the post is chosen to pass on to the national phase.
Once all entries are received, the organisation will send them to the contact person at each university, where in a period of 7 days, a finalist must be chosen for the #HiloTesis competition and announced to the organisation so that it can be approved by the national jury proposed by RedDivulga. This decision is expected to be reached in the first 15 days of July 2025.
The competition is open to students who are preparing their PhD thesis and recent PhD graduates enrolled in CRUE-associated universities who signed up to participate in this competition. Those participating must have passed at least one of evaluations of the Activities and Research Plan Document (RAPI) or have defended their PhD thesis in the 12 months prior to the competition's starting date.
The goal of the competition, organised by Crue Universidades Españolas, is to promote the development of scientific communication and dissemination skills among PhD students and recent graduates. In the past edition of #HiloTesis, a total of 362 PhD theses from the 49 Crue universities were presented.
UAB student María Paola Ayala won one of the six awards in last year's edition of the competition with a thread consisting of 19 posts in which she explained the transnational practices that Paraguayan migrant women in Spain carry out with their families in the country of origin and what links they maintain.
