From 23 to 26 March, the Faculty of Biosciences will be the scenario of the national phase of the 18th Spanish Biology Olympics. A total of 62 students from secondary schools across Spain who won the regional finals of the Olympics will be participating.

Olimpiades de Biologia

For the first time, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) will be hosting the national phase of the Spanish Biology Olympics (Olimpíada Española de Biologia, OEB). For four intense days, 62 students in their last year of secondary school, winners of the regional phases of this competition, will be competing in a series of theoretical and practical tests to show their knowledge of biology and their ability to solve problems and apply the science they know to real-life situations. In addition, students will have the opportunity to meet other young people who are also passionate about biology and interact with professionals and experts in the field.

The Spanish Biology Olympics is an initiative aiming to foster the interest in science and biology in particular, as well as identify and award the most outstanding students in this discipline. The national phase represents a unique opportunity to demonstrate their talent and passion for biology. Winners of this national phase will go on to the international phase: the International Biology Olympics (OIB) and the Iberian-American Biology Olympics (OIAB).

The UAB Faculty of Biosciences is proud to host these Olympics and hopes that they become a successful event that inspires young people to continue studying and exploring the fascinating world of biosciences.
