The Fundación CyD presents the results of the twelfth edition of its CyD ranking for Spanish universities. This ranking is prepared in association with the international ranking U-Multirank, with which it shares the methodological principles and most of the indicators, adding some indicators that are more appropriate for the Spanish university system. This edition includes the results of 82 universities, 30 fields of knowledge and 3,454 degrees.

The ranking evaluates the performance of universities based on the results obtained in 38 indicators, both for the institutional ranking and for the ranking of the 30 fields of knowledge: Agriculture, Business Administration, Earth Sciences/Geology, Education, History, Journalism and Communication, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Odontology, Pharmacy, Physics, Physiotherapy, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, and Veterinary Medicine.

New in this 2025 edition is the incorporation of the field of Electrical Engineering and Energy, and an update in the results of the degrees in 11 STEM areas: Architecture, Biology, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications, Industrial Engineering and Production, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering and Physics.

The CYD ranking classifies universities by performance groups, high, medium or low according to the result obtained in each criterion. The UAB is once again, in this edition, the university with the highest number of high performance indicators in Spain, with a total of 32 indicators in this category, three more than in last year's edition.

The criteria are structured in five dimensions: teaching and learning, research, knowledge transfer, international orientation and involvement in the environment.
