The UAB ranks 130th top university in the world according to the BGU ranking

In this tenth edition of the Best Global Universities (BGU) ranking published by U.S. News & World Report, the UAB moves up three positions from last year's edition and is now in the 130th position worldwide. It ranks 46th in Europe and is second among universities in Spain.

The UAB stands out in the indicators of Research reputation in Europe (27), Number of papers in the 1% most cited (138), Total citations (144), Number of publications in the top 10% (145), Number of publications (147), and Global research reputation (183).

In the classification by scientific disciplines, the UAB appears in 39 of the 51 disciplines analysed, and is among the top 100 in the world in seven: Ecology (25), Neurosciences (52), Environmental Sciences (54), Plant and Animal Science (66), Gastroenterology and Hepatology (94), Surgery (99), and Education (99). 

With regard to Spanish universities, the global ranking includes 59 centres and is headed by the University of Barcelona (82), followed by the UAB (130), the University of Valencia (261), the Pompeu Fabra University (276), and the Autonomous University of Madrid (281).

BGU ranks the top 2,250 higher education institutions from over 100 countries based on 13 indicators that measure academic and research performance, as well as research reputation at regional and global level. The top universities ranked in this edition globally are: Harvard University (USA), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), Stanford University (USA), University of Oxford (UK), and University of Cambridge (UK).
