The UAB ranks 114th in the world in sustainability
The QS Sustainability 2024 ranking, which measures the environmental and social impact of universities, places the UAB in 114th place worldwide out of a total of 1,403 institutions analysed. It is the top university in Spain in terms of social impact and governance, and third in the overall evaluation of the ranking.
Today the second edition of the QS Sustainability 2024 ranking was made public, a classification that measures the social and environmental impact of universities through three aspects with different weights each: environmental impact, with a weight of 68%, social impact, with 22%, and governance, which is weighted with 10% of the total evaluation.
The ranking places the UAB in 114th position worldwide. In environmental impact it ranks 206th, in social impact 89th and in governance, a new aspect of this edition, 29th worldwide.
In terms of universities in Spain, the UAB ranks first in the areas of social impact and governance, and third in the overall evaluation, behind the Complutense University of Madrid, ranking 103rd in the world, and the University of Barcelona, ranking 76th.
The UAB also stands out as the first university in Spain in the subfields of environmental research and community health and well-being.
This second edition of the ranking analyses data from 1,403 universities worldwide, twice as many as in the last edition.
