The UAB listed among the top 200 universities in the world according to the QS Ranking
The UAB ranks 172 globally in the QS World University Rankings. In Spain, the UAB finds itself in second position.

The UAB continues to find itself among the top 200 universities in the world according to the QS World University Rankings 2026. It rises three positions above last year’s edition and is currently in position 172. Thus, the UAB continues to be among the top 12% of best universities in the world.
By indicators, the UAB improves 53 positions in Sustainability and reaches the 61st position worldwide; it also maintains its 105th position in Academic Reputation; moves up to the 105th position in International Research Network, improving 11 positions with regard to the previous edition; and also improves 36 positions in Citations per Academic, ranking 170th this year.
When compared to other universities in Spain, the UAB finds itself in second position, behind the University of Barcelona, which ranks 160th worldwide. The global ranking is headed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Imperial College London, and Stanford University.
To prepare the ranking, 8,467 higher education institutions from 106 countries were evaluated, and the 1,501 top institutions (38 of them from Spain) were classified. QS directly requests data from the past academic year and obtains the number of citations for the past six years from information in Elsevier's scientific database Scopus.
