The second edition of the Oscars night celebrated at the Faculty of Communication Studies on 26 February was a complete success. A photocall, a prize draw, a film fan contest, music performances and a round-table conference were some of the activities that took place that night.

After all tickets got sold out, those attending the event got the chance to pose at the photocall, walk along the red carpet surrounded by posters of great films and bet on the potential winners of the night.

At the round-table conference that took place before the ceremony, some of the nominated films were discussed after the screening of its trailers. The round-table conference was organized by Núria Armesto, chaired by Paula Baviera and featured the collaboration of Ludovico Longhi, Pau Lluís, Teresa Madridejo and Adriana Sabariego.

During the night, there were several live performances by students of the Faculty of Communication Studies, such as Eloi Pasqual (magic), Raquel Brandía (voice), Elia Danon (guitar and voice) Jairo García (guitar and voice) and Sebastian Martín (in an Oscar costume). Eduard Cecília and Laia Vilà, starring actors of the short film “Fa, Fa, Facultat”, won Best Actor and Best Actress Oscar, given by their classmates. The SLIPI staff, the cleaning service staff, the members of the office of the dean and the restaurant service staff also received an Oscar to thank them for their collaboration. Moreover, the kiss cam encouraged those present to kiss one another on screen.

Last year’s edition has allowed the organizers—over thirty students of the Students’ Coordination Body—to repeat last year's successful activities and also to improve the event by introducing new elements such as the stars of fame and movie soundtracks, which got all the attendees dancing until the Oscars ceremony began.
