The FIRST Lego League is back in the UAB with sustainability as the background

The 32 teams that participated last Saturday, February 8th, in the qualifying round of the FIRST Lego League held at the UAB  Engineering School used the slogan  “The UAB the environment more sustainable” (L’Autònoma l’ambient + sostenible). In this way, the slogan, which has appeared in every plastic cup, has been made known among the attendees. The participants, who all of them were high school students, have presented their projects to improve the building of future cities so they were more sustainable.

On Saturday, February 8th, the Engineering School hosted one of the classifying rounds of the FIRST Lego League. The event, that has gathered 32 teams composed of high school students, has published the different participants’ projects to improve the cities of the future, analyzing the evolution of the buildings and reflecting on how build spaces where to live and work in a sustainable way thanks to technology.

Precisely, coinciding with this year’s slogan, the climate emergency, the organizers used the plastic cups of Dinamització Comunitària department, where it can be read “The UAB the environment more sustainable” (L’Autònoma l’ambient + sostenible). So, taking the opportunity of the coincidence with the theme of the tournament, the UAB slogan was announced to the half a thousand people who attended the event.

Students who participated, besides presenting and analyzing how to improve the future cities, also played to the Robot Game. During 2 minutes and a half, each team showed a Lego motor robot programmed by themselves.
