The fifth edition of the UAB's Inclusive Arts Week welcomes more than 350 people
The fifth edition of the UAB Inclusive Art Week, held from November 20 to December 3, has been a resounding success, establishing itself as a benchmark space to highlight diversity and promote inclusion throught art and community participation.
In the framework of the University Social Responsibility (RSU) programme, and with the collaboration of several UAB centres and projects, the schedule combined theatre, exhibitions, and participatory activities with a strong social and reflective component.
The performance Suéltalo ya, ¡coño! opened the week with a multidisciplinary and critical proposal on gender roles. Later, the play Hermafrodites a cavall o la rebel·lió del desig gave voice to intersex experiences from a creative and transformative perspective.
Also noteworthy was the opening of the exhibition Veus visuals per a la salut mental universitària, focused on students’ emotional well-being, as well as the forum theatre by La Xixa Teatre, which encouraged debate on inclusion. Together with the UAB Campus Community Choir, which highlighted the power of collective singing to strengthen bonds and improve well-being, these events were fully booked.
The week concluded with an institutional event by the Equality and Diversity Service, reaffirming the university’s commitment to inclusion and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Overall, this edition showed very high participation and great reception from the university community, making it a particularly meaningful and successful celebration.
