The EDO-UAB in charge of new project to launch training proposals for the Bio sector in Europe
A European project coordinated by the UAB Organisational Development Team aims to contribute to aligning training in the Bio sector with the needs of the professional sector. The Faculty of Education held a seminar on 14 May to present the project.

The coordinator of the project will be Professor Joaquín Gairín, also Dean of the faculty, who will present the seminar alongside Vice Rector for Innovation and Strategic Projects Javier Lafuente. The event will be held in the Sala de juntes at 9 a.m. The project receives funding from the European Union through the Bio-Based Industries consortium, which forms part of the Horizon 2020 programme, for a total amount of €946,586.
With the objective of placing Europe in the leading position globally in the Bio sector, the UrBIOfuture project aims to identify the discordances between educational proposals and the real needs of the sector's professionals and businesses, thereby achieving to align education and research centres with industries by proposing ways to encourage students to enter the sector.
Participating in the project are the following institutions: Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (Italy), Taknologian Tutkimuskeskus VTT Oy (Finland), Agro Business Park AS (Denmark), Fundación Corporación Tecnológica de Andalucía (Spain), Vlaamse Instelling voor Technologish Onderzoek N.V. (Belgium), Stichting IHE Delft Institute for Water Education (the Netherlands), Sustainable Innovations Europe SL (Spain) and Fundacja Uniwersytetyu im Adama Michiewicza W Poznaniu (Poland).
