"It’s a good opportunity to reflect on different ways of being on stage and of exploring that thing we call contemporary performance”
“At the level of quantum mechanics, all possible situations are apparently happening at once. Until an observer comes along, and nature chooses one of the possibilities. In Science-Fiction everything happens, all at once. At least until you see the show”.

This is how the artist Cris Blanco presents her performance Science-Fiction, a performance based on scientific theories and their artistic interpretation, looking at them from a different approach. The artist has already performed in the CCCB, the MACBA, MUSAC and La Pedrera, and now it lands on the UAB Theatre on Wednesday 2 March at 5.00 pm, in order to make the public dive in a universe full of surprises.

Science-Fiction is “an investigation of the world of science by somebody with a rather unscientific mind. ‘In a single blow, it’s a knowledge tournament, a lecture, a class, and a magic act (where you get to see the trick); it's a concert, and a show that could be many shows that don’t exist (yet); it’s a night of Thai take-away at the flat of the guys from Big Bang Theory... In short, it’s a good opportunity to reflect on different ways of being on stage and of exploring that thing we call contemporary performance”. (David Rodríguez in El Teatro de Tina).

The artist Cris Blanco was born in Madrid and in 2003 she started to create her own scenic pieces. She works as a performance, dance, theatre and cinema artist. Her work is based on the transformation of codes and objects, the mix of scenic genres, errors, tricks that can be seen and science-fiction. Among her most famous scenic works we can find: Cuadrado_flecha_persona que corre (2004) and El agitador vórtex (2014).

This activity is part of the cycle Artefacte, a cycle composed of professional artistic performances, which started with a performance by Anna Roig i l’Ombre de ton chien last November. This March there will be a performance in the UAB Theatre by the duoAndrea Amador and Álex Ramirez (Concurs Internacional Paper de Música de Capellades) and there will also be a presentation of the monolog De algún tiempo a esta parte. (de Max Aub, interpreted and directed by Esther Lázaro).
