The 1st Quick Debate Marathon arrives at the UAB
The 1st Quick Debate Marathon will take place on 6 April from 10 am to 5 pm at the Resource Centre for Student Societies (Plaça Cívica). The theme will be: “Are public policies on employment effective to achieve equality between women and men?”

The period to register for this activity will end on 31 MarchThe Debate Leagues that took place last February were a great success in its two forms, both because of a good participation level and the high quality of the speeches. Both themes, “Does internet give us more freedom?” of the High School Debate league, and “Is it necessary to have a minimum of political knowledge in order to vote?” of the University Leage, were in line with the current state of affairs, discussing issues like Big Data or the quality of democracy.
The High School and University debate leagues proved that this system is a good opportunity to encourage debate and raise awareness about current affairs among the university community. Therefore, the Observatory for Equality and the Community Involvement Unit are organising the 1st Quick Debate Marathon, which will take place on 6 April from 10 am to 5 pm at the Resource Centre for Student Societies (Plaça Cívica).
The chosen theme is: “Are public policies on employment effective to achieve equality between women and men?” The debate is in line with International Women’s Day and the chosen theme highlights the need to raise awareness about equality of rights between women and men.
The period to register for this activity will end on 31 March. The winner team will represent the UAB at the Student Debate Forum about public policies on employment and the fight against wage inequality that will take place on April at the University of Salamanca.
