Susana Navas elected dean of the Faculty of Law

Susana Navas, professor of the Department of Private Law, was recently elected new dean of the Faculty of Law. The Faculty Board passed a vote and elected her dean in an ordinary session held on 28 June. Navas will assume office on 1 September and will be taking over from Professor Enric Fossas, who has served as dean since 2019.

The new team will be made up of María Carmen Navarro, secretary of the Facultat, head of Quality and coordinator of Alumni; Ricardo Esteban, Vice Dean for Academic Ordinance, Spanish and French Law, and Master's Degrees; Albert Pastor, Vice Dean for Students and Employability and coordinator of Bachelor's Degree Final Projects; Susana Beltrán, Vice Dean for Double Degrees, International Projection and Communication; Núria Reynal, Vice Dean and coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in Law; Olga Paz, Vice Dean for Lebour Relations and coordinator of External Work Placements in Labour Relations and Bachelor's Degrees Final Projects; and Noelia Igareda, coordinator of Mobility and External Work Placements in Law and Business Administration and Management + Law.

Navas is former director of the Department of Private Law at the UAB, and member of the Association of Civil Law Lecturers, the Henri Capitant Association and the Copyright Study and Teaching Association, and many others. She has written several papers and monographs, and her research mainly focuses on fields such as intellectual property and digital law, private European law and other aspects of civil law. She has directed six PhD theses and forms part of the editorial board of the International Law Research of the Centre of Science and Education in Toronto, Canada.
