Students from all across the country gathered at the annual JFET event

The annual Seminar for the Promotion of Telecommunications Studies known as JFET is organized jointly by the State’s Telecommunications Student Council (CEET) and the Student Council of the UAB School of Engineering. On 23 March, visitors got the chance to familiarise themselves with the profession. There was a talk on satellite positioning and another one on the future of Telecoms chaired by the City of Barcelona. On the afternoon, those present took part in a tour at the Mobile World Centre.

On the second day of the JFET, the students visited the National Centre for Microelectronics and 5 students were selected to take part in a guided tour at the integrated micro and nanoelectronics clean room of the Spanish Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC). On the afternoon, the students visited the Parc de l’Alba, the facilities of the Catalan synchrotron. The closing event was chaired by the president of the CEET and the UAB student, Pol Álvarez.
 
In addition to this annual event, on 25 March CEET members gathered in an Extraordinary General Meeting to debate issues of the Telecommunications students’ interest, such as integrated Master studies, the relation with official Telecommunications associations, the subjects that the next JFET event will deal with and the CEET’s internal organization.
