Roser Granero received recognition for the excellence of her research in a public event that took place on 31 October at the University of Alcalá. The jury praised the "social projection of her research on the neurological and psychological basis of compulsive disorders and behavioural addictions, as well as other associated problems, with special reference to their impact by gender and age", and also "her leadership capacity, with the methodological direction of multiple research projects and 14 doctoral theses".

Professor Granero expressed her gratitude for the recognition obtained: "awards like this are an excellent opportunity to give visibility to the enormous amount of work that we women are doing in the field of research", she said. "For science to be truly transformative, to facilitate the progress of all social sectors and to improve global welfare, it has to be integrative and involve women. And it has to do so at all stages involved in the acquisition of scientific evidence, including the social dissemination of the products that are generated. If science is conceptualised as a single, monolithic whole, we fall into the perpetual error of actions conceived in a rigid androcentric way, which do not take into account the multiple and diverse realities of our society", she concluded.

Roser Granero received an extraordinary PhD award for her thesis in Psychology from the UAB in 1999. She also holds a university diploma in Statistics, a master's degree in Design and Statistics in Behavioural Sciences, and a master's degree in Psychopathological Assessment of Children and Young People. Professor of Methodology of Behavioural Sciences in the Department of Psychobiology and Methodology at UAB, she is currently principal investigator of the Programme in Neurosciences Psychoneurobiology of Eating Disorders and Addictive Behaviours and is part of the CIBERobn research group (Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red, Fisiopatología de la Obesidad y Nutrición del Instituto Carlos III). In 2021 she was awarded the ICREA-Academia prize by the Ministry for Research and Universities of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Professor Granero has more than 360 published papers according to Web of Science (with an h-index of 44), 150 of which are empirical papers indexed in the first quartile (Q1) of the Journal Citation Reports (JCR). She has also contributed more than 350 papers to national and international congresses, conferences and symposia.
