Jordi Cerdà Subirachs, a professor in the Department of French and Romance Studies, will be the new Vice-Rector for Culture and Language Policy, replacing Laura Santamaria.

Cerdà, a tenured professor of Romance Studies, has served as director of the Instituto Camões’ José Saramago Chair at the UAB, secretary and vice-dean for Economics and Infrastructure of the Faculty of Arts & Humanities, and coordinator of the bachelor’s degree in Humanities and the minor in Medieval Romance Cultures and Literatures at the Faculty of Arts & Humanities, among other roles.

Albert Ruiz Cirera, lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and until now the Rector's Delegate for Teaching Programming, will be the new Vice-Rector for Research, replacing Assumpció Malgosa.

Ruiz is associate lecturer of geometry and topology in the Algebraic Topology Research Group at the UAB. He has served as coordinator of the bachelor's degree in Computational Mathematics and Data Analytics and as secretary of the Department of Mathematics.

Xavier Gabarrell Durany, lecturer in the Department of Chemical, Biological and Environmental Engineering and current Vice-Rector for Campus and Sustainability, will assume responsibility for Economic Affairs—taking over from Xavier Ramos—within a new Vice-Rectorate for Economy, Campus and Sustainability.

Gabarrell is professor of Chemical Engineering and researcher at ICTA-UAB, an institute he has directed on two occasions. He is the principal investigator of the Sustainability and Environmental Prevention research group (SosteniPrA, SGR).
