Rafel Escribano, new Rector's Delegate for University Access
Rafel Escribano, professor in theoretical physics in the UAB Department of Physics, was appointed Rector's Delegate for University Access.

Escribano is principal investigator at the Institut de Física d'Altes Energies (IFAE). His research is based on the study of strong interactions at low energies through the use of effective field theories, with the aim of better understanding the evolution of the universe and discovering whether there are new physics models beyond the standard model of particle physics.
He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Service de Physique Théorique at the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium, and at the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN). He has also spent research stays at the CERN Theoretical Physics Department and at the Jefferson LAB, USA.
In the field of UAB management, Professor Escribano was secretary of the Department of Physics, coordinator of the master's degree in High Energy Physics, Astrophysics and Cosmology, head of Theoretical Physics Research Group and vice-rector for Academic Personnel. Outside of the UAB, he was also heald of the IFAE Theory Division and member of the Academic Working Group of the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST).
