The UAB announces the loss of Professor Ángeles Lizón

Professor Ángeles Lizón, retired professor from the Department of Sociology, passed away on 18 April 2024. The University wishes to express its deepest condolences to her family, colleagues and all those who knew and appreciated her.

Professor Ángeles Lizón, retired professor from the Department of Sociology, passed away on 18 April 2024.

Her academic career was spent between the Centre for Basic Studies of the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and the Department of Sociology of the UAB.

Ángeles Lizón worked for more than four decades with York University, Toronto; the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM, Mexico City); and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), where she taught theory and methodology of Social Sciences.

Her most relevant theoretical contributions are collected in her latest work, focused on cognitive social science: La sociabilidad humana: estudios de evolución y cognición social (2016).
