One Health platform presentation session
On Wednesday 3 November, the conference hall of the Rectorat building played host to a strategic session entitled One Health: a cross-disciplinary vision, under the framework of the official presentation of the nation-wide platform for Spain (Una Sola Salud).

The objective of this session, which was presided by UAB Rector Javier Lafuente, was to remark the importance of the One Health strategy’s cross-disciplinary approach. The main theme debated was the impact of anthropogenic-management practices on the health of humans, animals and the environment. The session served to discuss relevant aspects such as its effects on the spreading of diseases, the climate and resource sustainability, the impact on vector transmission, biodiversity and ecosystems. The event formed part of the official launch of the One Health Platform (Una Sola Salud), of which the UAB is a member.
