New call for entries for the UAB Literary Journalism Prize

From 16 June to 30 September entries will be accepted for the UAB Literary Journalism Prize for novel reports and unpublished works of documentary literature in Catalan. The award includes a cash prize of one thousand euros as well as the publication of the work by the UAB. The winning work will be announced in December.

Premi de Periodisme Literari de la UAB

This is the sixth edition of the award given by the master’s degree in Literary Journalism, Communication and Humanities of the UAB in collaboration with the UAB Publications Service. The rules can be consulted on the website of the master's degree. The works submitted must be unpublished, written in Catalan and have a length of between 130,000 and 170,000 characters (including spaces).

The first edition of the award was launched in 2013 and has been held every two years. Over the years, the jury has been composed of lecturer of the master's degree who are also writers, such as Miqui Otero, Juan Pablo Villalobos, Esteban Plantada, Eileen Truax, Begoña Gómez Urzaiz, and other relevant writers in the literary or journalistic scene such as Leila Guerriero, Gaby Martínez or Txell Feixas, and many others. The jury of this sixth edition will be made public before the closing of the call for entries.

The winning works in previous editions include: Cuando encuentres a Malinowski y otros relatos de periodismo literario and Ritmos para el paraíso, both published by Editorial Base; and 23 dies de desembre, by Marc Amat; Menors i migrants, by Marina Sonadellas; and La Bodega by Miguel Peña, all three published by Angle Editorial.
