The UAB opens a new call for Banco Santander Ithaca grants consisting of 500 Euros per month during the ten months of each academic year. The grants, which are distributed by the UAB Institute for Education, are reserved for students who finish secondary school in 2013/14, attend a centre which has participated in the Ithaca Campus programme and plan to enrol in an undergraduate degree at UAB in the 2014/15 academic year. One of the requirements is that these students must have a family income level which makes them eligible for ordinary grants offered by the Ministry for Education, Culture and Sport.

Grants will be awarded to students based on the average mark of their academic transcript. Those who have participated in the Campus Ithaca programme will have a 0.5 point added to their average mark.

Deadline for applications is 8 July. All documents must be presented at the UAB General Register, located at the Rectorate building. The provisional list with the names of those awarded the grants will be made public on 11 July and the final list on 1 October. These grants are incompatible with any other type of aids or grants.

Monitoring and Renewal of the Grant

A follow-up committee will be in charge of evaluating the academic progress of grantholders after finalising their first term at university.

Students who have already been awarded an Ithaca grant will automatically have the grant renewed if they pass all credits in which they enrolled in the 2013/14 academic year.
