Míriam Giménez appointed UAB Deputy Executive Director of People

Míriam Giménez Dapena has been appointed new Deputy Executive Director for People at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, a position she will take up on 1 February. The areas that report to this Deputy Executive's Office are the People Management Area, the People Development and Technical Support Area and the Prevention and Assistance Area.

María Giménez holds a degree in Psychology from the University of Barcelona. She has developed her professional career mainly at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, where she has been administrator of the Department of Chemical Engineering, head of the Personnel Service, promoter of the Labour Advisory Unit for Research, director of the Teaching and Research Staff Area, and director of the Personnel Area. She was also the technical coordinator of labour relations for the Catalan Association of Public Universities (ACUP).

The different areas she will now cover are responsible for the planning and execution of both teaching and administrative staff policies in multiple aspects - access, training, teaching innovation, work organisation, etc. - as well as occupational health prevention: occupational risk prevention, health care and health promotion, etc.

Fernando Guerrero, who has held the position of Deputy Executive Director for People from 2021 until now, will become head of Executive Administrator Projects at the UAB.
