Lecturer's Cinto Niqui awarded for his show "L'Altra Ràdio"

The ceremony was organised by the Catalan Association of Telecommunication and Digital Technology Engineers (Telecos.cat) and by the Computer Engineering Association of Catalonia. The prize awarded to the radio show "L'Altra Ràdio" is the most important prize awarded by the professional sector of information and communication technologies in Catalonia. In his acceptance speech, lecturer Niqui, who has taught at the Faculty of Communication Studies since 1992 and is member of the UAB Institute of Communication, once again requested the creation of a radio museum, which could become the country's first digital national museum.

In 2019, "L'Altra Ràdio" was awarded the National Communication Prize, conferred by the Government of Catalonia in the broadcasting category. In its 42 years, the show has been awarded nine prizes from different radiophonic, journalistic and ICT sectors. This year the programme airs on Ràdio 4 Wednesday at 2:05 p.m., and again on Sundays at 4:05 p.m. The programme's podcasts are also available.
