Fòrum de Delegats: formació sobre la migració del campus virtual al moodle
On Wednesday 5 April at 1 p.m., there will be an extraordinary meeting of the Delegates’ Forum to address the migration from Virtual Campus to Moodle, which will come into operation by the academic year 2017-2018. To this end, the UAB has initiated an informative process for the UAB students and lecturers to acquaint themselves with Moodle—the most widely used virtual environment in Europe. The Delegates’ Forum—a platform aimed at training and informing the UAB delegates on different issues—will be the venue for this informative talk.

The lecturers have already started their training and now it’s the students’ turn. Considering that the delegates are the main link between the students and the University, it is vitally important for the delegates to be well informed about these changes. However, the lecture can also be attended by anybody who is interested. Registrations are open.

The current UAB learning management system integrates two platforms: the Virtual Campus, that became operational in 2002, and the free open-source software Moodle, implemented in 2006, even though it was not mandatory for lecturers to use Moodle. According to Juan Antonio Martínez, head of the UAB Planning Unit, there is a need now to consolidate Moodle as the only educational virtual platform at the UAB due to some of its features, such as thesis (TFG) management and software to prevent plagiarism.
