Solidarity mobilized about 2,000 people on the campus of UAB Bellaterra on Sunday, 14th of December. Thanks to all of them have been collected about 15,000 euros, which will be destinated to La Marató de TV3.
UAB
In the race of 9 km. won Eric Teruel Casajuana (Joventut Atlètica Moncada), with a time of 31:05; and the women, Eva Romero Parrado (CALaietània), with a time of 35:54. After the arrival of the runners, the walk took place inside the campus, in a very festive atmosphere and supportive. A little earlier, the race became disabled, about 500 meters away, very emotional for the value and effort of its participants.

This has been a very egalitarian race: the total enrolled, 51% were women and 49% men. 51% have participated in the race of 9 km., 46% in the walk 5 km., And 3% in the race disabled.

TV3 broadcast live out of the race in La Marató program. The sports journalist Pere Escobar came to campus to interview from the starting point to a runner and a volunteer, just moments before it would signal the start of the race at 11 am.

Of the total enrolled, 24% were from Barcelona, 18% of Cerdanyola, 11% of Sabadell, Bellaterra 7%, and the remaining towns such as Sant Cugat, Badalona, Manresa, Barbera, Moncada, among others.

A hundred people, mostly students and administrative staff took part as volunteers, collaborating in organizing tasks, coordinated by the Fundació Autònoma Solidària FAS). Another group of students of Physiotherapy also collaborated voluntarily to assist in the physical recovery of the participants.

A total of 180 runners participated in the voluntary control of a test to analyze how your heart responds to physical exertion. This test, which carries out the Spinn-off UAB and UPC "Health & SportLab" directed by UAB professor Lluís Capdevila- has created a system for monitoring the state of preparation and physical and mental monitor cardiac adaptation to effort and recovery.

The Cursa de la UAB in support of the Marató de TV3
, organised by the UAB and with the collaboration with the City Council of Cerdanyola del Vallès and the Catalan Network of Healthy Universities (Us.cat), took place on Sunday 14 December, at the Bellaterra Campus. Last year UAB made a contribution of 12,000 euros for La Marató, which was destined to neurodegenerative diseases. This year the figure is superior, thanks to the solidarity of the people and organisations who participated.
