JAUME CARRASCOSA (Aeronautical Management) Jaume enters the UAB with the highest score among all those enrolling in engineering degrees, a 12.328 over 14. He graduated from the secondary school centre Mare de Déu del Roser (Barcelona). He will be studying Aeronautical Management and at the same time getting his commercial pilot licence at the nearby Sabadell airport.

Jaume Carrascosa, as a fan of computer sciences, lists under his hobbies not only the computer, but also TV series and specifically “The Big Bang Theory”, as well as reading. He said the last book he read was the novel The Fault in Our Stars, but that he is also a great fan of the Harry Potter series.

-Why did you choose the UAB?
-I chose the UAB because I found it was the best option, because of the campus and its facilities. It is a leading university and that is also important for my future. And it offered a degree which I find very interesting, which is Aeronautical Management.

-Why did you choose Aeronautical Management?
A few years ago I would have chosen Computer Engineering, but since I've also liked planes and airports, I thought about taking this degree, because it's a good opportunity to enter the world of airports and be able to contribute to improving or creating something new in this area.

-Professionally, you want to manage an airport. That seem rather complicated, doesn't it?
Well, the truth is that it does seem rather complicated if you stop to think about it. But you are not alone, there are other people working with you and I imagine you can always count on them for support.

-How do you imagine your professional and personal future?
I think I'll be in charge of one of the parts of an airport, the logistics of planes, or luggage, or something similar. Ideally, I would love to be a commercial pilot, and also work in an airport and take care of its logistics. I would also like to go and work for some months in large airports, such as in France or in London or New York, and learn about how they manage such large volumes of traffic, and meet new people and have new experiences.

-What do you await from your experience at the UAB?
At first it's a bit scary to think I'll be attending university, a place I'm not familiar with, but I hope to make new friends, learn things and acquire a good foundation so that I can later get a good job.

-How did you manage to get such good marks?
By doing my homework and keeping my class work up to date. I also think it is important to know your own weak and strong points when you are studying. And to make good use of your time. Even though you may think the final exams are difficult, in the end you realise they are not that bad. They are just another exam and, actually, almost everyone passes them. I decided that for my final exams I would focus on the subjects that gave me the maximum amount of points.
