Great turnout at the UAB Family Day
On Saturday 9 May the UAB opened its doors to future university students and their families in a new edition of Family Day, which was a huge success in terms of participation. More than 1,000 registered families (around 3,000 people) visited the campus to familiarise themselves first-hand with the facilities, faculties and the Vila Universitària, as well as discover the more than one hundred bachelor's degrees offered at the UAB.
This activity, which is held once a year on a Saturday morning, once again filled the campus with guided tours led by University lecturers. Future university students and their families were able to discover the classrooms and lecture halls, laboratories, libraries and other academic spaces of the UAB centres. They were also accompanied by current students and members of the technical, management and administration and services staff, as well as the deans and even the UAB rector, who participated in the day, thus reinforcing the institutional and local nature of the event.
New this year were the guided tours offered to the Physical Activity Service (SAF), which expanded the possibilities for families to get to know the University's sports services and equipment up close.
In addition to discovering the different parts of the UAB campus, the visit also allowed families to see the Vila Universitària and get a taste of university life for those who chose to live on campus.
Family Day was also held at the Sabadell campus, where degrees in Accounting and Finance, Business and Technology, and Aeronautical Management are taught.
The large number of participants consolidates Family Day as one of the key events for future students and their families, and confirms the growing interest in learning about the university experience at the UAB.
