Four Patestinian students are awarded study grants
The #UABRefugi grants call for Palestinian students in bachelor's, master's and PhD degrees has been resolved for the 2025/26 academic year. The study grants, managed by the FAS, have allowed 4 Palestinian students to resume their studies at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).

The latest UNRWA report highlights the story of Mohammed, a visually impaired child in Gaza who dreams of becoming a doctor, but who sees his educational future shattered by the war. Like him, thousands of young Palestinians have lost access to education due to the war. Faced with this reality, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) is promoting an annual call for study grants to allow Palestinian students to begin or continue their university studies.
The grants, which are managed by the Fundació Autònoma Solidària (FAS), have been awarded to 4 students from Palestine for the 2025/26 academic year. The university has covered 100% of the students' tuition fees. The financial aid also included the costs of accommodation, transport and educational materials based on monthly contributions. In addition, the costs of the translation and legalisation of the documents necessary to study and reside in the country have been covered for all those students who needed it.
Resolution of the Modality A of the #UABRefugi grants
On April 15, Modality A of the #UABRefugi Grant Call for Undergraduate, Master's and Doctorate studies was also resolved, ultimately benefiting a total of 40 students.
The total amount of these grants is €65,000 and covers the payment of 100% of the registration and tuition fees for the 2026/27 academic year, in addition to paying for the diploma, academic certificates and other documentation.
The UAB presents several calls each academic year from the UAB Refuge programme of the FAS with the intention of accompanying and supporting people in a situation of refuge or forced displacement.
