Changes in the UAB Governing Team

UAB Rector Javier Lafuente made two new changes in the university's governing team. Maite Carrassón is now the Vice Rector for Academic Staff and Tatiana Rovira is the new Vice Rector for Quality.

Vice Rector Carrassón is lecturer in Zoology at the Department of Animal Biology, Plant Biology and Ecology at the UAB and head of the consolidated research group Salut d’Animals Aquàtics (Aquatic Animal Health). Among her responsibilities, she has evaluated projects from the National Administration of Public Education (ANEP), the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI), and the Agency for Management of University and Research Grants (AGAUR); she was director of the Department of Animal Biology, Plant Biology and Ecology, and Rector's Commissioner for Academic Programming. She was already a member of the current Governing Team as Vice Rector for Quality and Academic Accreditation and will now be the Vice Rector for Academic Staff. She will be taking over from Professor Francisco Morente.

Vice Rector Rovira is lecturer of the Department of Basic, Developmental and Educational Psychology. She forms part of the Stress and Health research group and her work has focused on facing stress in the fields of nursing and when communicating bad news, and stress management in daily life situations and its relation with wellbeing. She was Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Teaching Quality at the Faculty of Psychology, and from 2019 to 2022 she was Dean of the Faculty. As the new Vice Rector for Quality she will be taking over from her predecessor Professor Carrassón.
