CANCELLED PREVIEW: 'Papicha' MARCH 19th
The screening will take place Thursday 19 of March in the UAB Cinema at 1 o’clock. The film tells the story of a 18 year old girl in the context of the Algerian Civil War. Entrance is completely free.

‘Papicha’ is a drama film and tells the story of Nedjma, a 18 year old girl that dreams of becoming an stylist and doesn’t want the Argelian Civil War to stop her from living a normal life with her friend Wassila. She is not willing the accept the prohibitions of radicals and decides to fight for her freedom and independence by organizing a fashion show.
It is the fourth film by filmmaker Mounia Meddour and it has had a very good reception in festivals like the Cannes Film Festival or the Gouna Film Festival. It also won the audience award for Best Film and the Best New Director award in the Valladolid International Film Festival.
