"Busos UAB": new app to assist in getting around the campus

The UAB's Sustainable and Safe Mobility Week has provided the backdrop for the launch of a new application: "Busos UAB" The app, developed by the Autònoma, collects data on the location of the campus buses and helps in the running of the service in two ways. On the one hand it helps managers to adjust the service to the demand. And on the other, it helps passengers by informing on arrival times, routes, stops, etc.

This initiative falls within the project Smart Campus, currently under way at the UAB, to use new technologies in the management of mobility. The application is based on a web platform, is available on both Android and IOS devices and can be accessed using the QR codes that are being installed at all campus bus stops. The campus currently has 5 bus routes and 14 stops, and carries over 2000 passengers daily.
