Big success of the International Welcome Days

The week of the 12 to the 17 September UAB International students had the chance to get to know the university from another angle. With more than 400 participants, the Students Associations and UAB Services Fair was the activity that opened the week. Students had the opportunity to meet local students participating in more than 15 students’ associations. Right after that, took place the Welcome Session, which had to be repeated due to overcrowding of the Cinema.

One of the new activities this year was the workshop “Catalan from scratch”, an activity organized by the Language Service that allowed International Student to have a first informal approach to Catalan. Another new activity was the walk around campus. Organized by Community Involvement in collaboration with the Environmental Office, the walk covered the campus from Can Miró to Bellaterra.

The IWD were a great success and International students participated in many of the activities, gatherings and workshops programmed for them. Students from all over the world had the chance to meet other International students, also newly arrived to the UAB, and local students that participate in the Mentor programme, and who gave a warm welcome to the newcomers.
