New UAB blood donation campaign from 2 to 5 November
The UAB will host a new blood donation campaign by the Blood and Tissue Bank on 2, 4 and 5 November. The university community is invited to take part and help maintain the blood supplies needed by hospitals.
Donations will be made in the entrance halls of various faculties on campus at the following times:
2 November
- School of Engineering: from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
- Faculty of Arts & Humanities: from 10:00 a.m.to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
4 November
- Faculty of Law: from 10:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m.
- Faculty of Medicine: from 10:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m. and from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
5 November
- Faculty of Medicine: from 10:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m. and from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
- Faculties of Science and of Biosciences: from 10:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m.
Prior registration is not required, although making a reservation is recommended to help estimate the number of donors. Those interested can view the information and book an appointment via the Blood and Tissue Bank webiste.
Blood donors should make sure to eat and drink enough liquids before donating blood. To make a donation, one must show a valid form of identification (national ID card, NIE, passport, or driving licence).
A blood donation can help several people and only takes a few minutes. Come join us at the UAB blood drive and bring your friends!
