The UAB organises a new edition of the Barcelona Summer School
A new edition of the UAB Barcelona Summer School will begin on 22 June. This international summer school offers courses in all academic disciplines and is open to both international and local students. A total of 600 participants have registered for this activity, which takes place in two 3-week sessions: from 22 June to 10 July, and from 13 to 30 July.
The UAB Barcelona Summer School allows sharing experiences with students from other countries with the aim of learning from different cultures and participating in recreational and sports activities. The summer school, in addition to being considered a tool for knowledge, innovation and sustainability, takes place in a space designed to minimise the impact on the environment.
Students participating in this 11th edition have the opportunity to enjoy courses in sciences, biosciences, health sciences, social sciences and law, arts and humanities, and engineering. In the first period, courses will be offered on topics such as the science of honeybees, bioethics, contemporary challenges in international relations, finance, journalism, how the brain works, leadership and negotiation techniques, operations management, Spanish cinema, and the scientific basis of energy management. The course schedule will be from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., in a face-to-face format and with 90% of courses being taught in English.
In the second period, other courses will be offered that will cover the areas of advanced programming, cinema and memory, with several sessions; contemporary social structure, critical thinking, legislation and ethics on data protection; diseases affecting marine mammals; game theory; international relations in East Asia; psychological first aid for mental health and crises; Spanish politics; urban performing arts; video games and narrative; protection of women's rights; and European and international mechanisms against
