An original work by the artist Carme Solé Vendrell has become part of the UAB's artistic heritage. The incorporation was formalized in a ceremony at the Rectorate on April 27, in which Solé presented her work to the University's governing team.

The work, which plays with the emblematic image of the UAB's four columns, contains a simple message in favor of peace and incorporates allegorical motifs of the suffering of the Palestinian people, a cause with which the University has expressed its solidarity and has been involved in a multitude of solidarity initiatives.

At the meeting with the UAB's governing team, Solé evoked the inspiration she found in the work of Bertolt Brecht and claimed with special emphasis the defence of the rights of children as victims of conflict situations. UAB Rector Javier Lafuente stated on behalf of the UAB that "we feel represented" in Solé's work and Laura Santamaria, vice-rector for Culture and Language Policy, praised the diversity of readings of the work.
