The UAB dedicates an entire day to board games and video games

With the aim of introducing the University's students to the different options that board games and video games offer to deepen research and knowledge, last Wednesday 15 April the UAB libraries offered a day with demonstrations of how different games on a variety of topics work.

The game sessions and demonstrations took place at the COMTEC Centre and the Video Games Service of the Communication Library and General Newspaper Archives, in the BCT space of the Science and Technology Library, in the Social Sciences Library, in the games space of the Veterinary Library, in the Sabadell University Library, in the Digital Lab (Periodicals Room) of the Humanities Library, in the Àgora space of the Medicine Library, in the space dedicated to games and rest of the Josep Laporte Library, and in the dynamisation space of the Vall d'Hebron University Library of Medicine and Nursing. 

Throughout the day, board games and video games related to different areas were made available to the students: from communication (Pulitzer, Red Carpet, Días de Radio, Spoilers, Black Stories, El Joc de TV3), mathematics (Ubongo, Quarto), the natural environment (Embosca’t, Wingspan, Joc de Memoria dels Ocells de Catalunya), genetics (PhyloGenome), social sciences (El Crimen de Quintana de la Matanza, Cluedo, La Resistència and Pandemia), the one-health approach (Pollinator Park, Honeybee VR), economics (Catan, Le Havre), prehistory and history (Carcassone: Cazadores y Recolectores, Stone Age, Votes for Women, Twilight Struggle, Mediterranean Empires), and medicine (Desafíos Médicos, Nueva York: Servicio de Urgencias, Save Patient Zero, Pandemic: Iberia, Dice Hospital, Rush M.D., Virus).

The activity received the support of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology and the Spanish Ministry for Science, Innovation and Universities.
