The ranking places the UAB in 83rd position worldwide and in 48th position in Europe. In environmental impact it occupies the 64th position; in social impact, 124th, and in governance, 152nd worldwide. In Spain, in addition to leading the ranking on a global scale, the UAB is also the top university in environmental impact and third in social impact.
The QS Sustainability Rankings aim to analyse the steps universities are taking to address and lead the response to global environmental, social and governance (ESG) challenges. Through research, teaching, strong governance, and community engagement, QS considers that universities have the expertise needed and the opportunity to drive sustainable development, ensuring that future generations of students are educated on the importance of this issue. This fourth edition of the ranking analyses data from 2,002 universities around the world, 258 more than in the previous edition.
