Process of detecting training needs for PDI and PTGAS sectors begins
The UAB Training Unit begins its process of creating the Training Plan for the years 2026 and 2027.
During this month of November, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona is launching the process of detecting training needs for Teaching and Research Staff (PDI) and Technical, Management, and Administration and Services Staff (PTGAS). This action represents the first stage for the development of the Training Plan for the years 2026 and 2027.
The process will be developed based on five different questionnaires and will include the direct participation of members of the PDI and PTGAS sectors. Other institutional groups are also included: the governing team, the deans and vice-deans, the office of the executive administrator, department and institute directors, degree coordinators, and the heads of functional and organic units of the PTGAS.
This consultation aims to give a voice to UAB professionals so that they can express their training needs in relation to the challenges and changes expected in their work environments. The responses will help guide training actions towards the skills and resources that can be strengthened with training.
The Training Unit will be in charge of the technical coordination of the process, guaranteeing methodological quality, data analysis and the incorporation of contributions in the definition of the new Training Plan.
According to José Luís Muñoz Moreno, vice-rector for Training and Teaching Innovation, “this process allows us to listen to the voices of our staff, understand their realities and plan training actions that respond in a useful and tailored way to the different professional areas”. The vice-rector highlighted that “training must be a strategic tool to strengthen individual and collective capacities, and to connect institutional policies with the people who make them possible”.
